Google Chromebook: Computing On The Cloud

Search giant Google has unveiled its long-awaited laptop powered by its Chrome software – The Chromebook. These laptops run on Chrome OS which has been designed keeping in mind ‘the web.’ This means that now user applications, photos, games, movies, music and documents will all be available on cloud.

What Google Chromebook Actually Is?

Google Chromebook is not a typical notebook. With the chrome book, you will not have to wait for several minutes for a computer to boot and then the browser to start. The chrome book will make your e-mails and other Internet applications available in seconds. In fact, you will be able to access your applications, photos, music, games, documents and movies from anywhere. Moreover, you will also not have to worry about backing up your files or losing them due to some software or hardware problem. You must be thinking how all of this is possible. If yes, read on.

The bare-bones OS is basically a web browser that not only allows, but also guides users to various applications such as spreadsheets and e-mail directly on the web. So now, if you're using Google Chromebook, you will not have to store softwares like Word, Excel or Outlook. The idea behind making such a system is removing the burden of day-to-day time-consuming functions like installing software and its updates, running antivirus checks and backing up files. Now Google Chrome laptops will make all these functions available directly on the Internet.

More That You Must Know About Google Chromebooks

Google chrome book offers some amazing features. You can breeze through the webpages that often slow down other browsers. Multi-threaded processing allows Web pages to load quickly and the interface is also surfing friendly.

One very common problem that users face while using laptops is that they have to carry the charger and power cord everywhere they take their laptop. Chromebooks can last throughout the day on a single charge. This means that you do not have to carry a power cord or charger wherever you go. Moreover, the optional 3G available on the chrome book will make the web available wherever you want.

Security is also not a problem with chromebooks. The cr-48 laptops come with many layers of built-in security, verified boot and data encryption. This means that there is no need of buying or maintaining anti-virus software. With chrome, you can make Internet surfing a very smooth experience. Chrome offers minimalist interface design and makes available thumbnails of the pages that are frequently visited. Since, the chrome uses multi-threading option, even if a web page crash, the only thing that will get crashed is that particular tab and not the complete browser. Another great feature is blocking of pop-ups by chrome. Chrome puts the pop-ups on the bottom of screen. In case you want to launch a pop-up, you can simply click on it.

Chrome software will be available for free with the chromebook. The search engine giant wants the users to use the Internet more often as it will boost their Internet ads business. Moreover, the chrome book will also be offered as a hassle-free solution to businesses in US in just $28 a month.

Google Chromebooks will be available on sale from June 15 onwards. If you belong to Britain, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Netherlands or the United States, you can purchase the chrome book online from June 15th. In India, the Chromebook is expected to be made available later this year. The first Chrome books are being made by Acer Inc and Samsung Electronics Co and they will be selling it at a price between $349 to $499 at Amazon.com Inc and Best Buy in the US.

With Google Chromebook, you will not have to spend hours fighting with your computer in order to set it up or to keep it updated.
