You can make an excellent astringent for oily skin at home by mixing aloe vera gel (40 mL), distilled witch hazel (50 ml), vegetable glycerin, juice of a lemon, Apple cider vinegar (1 tablespoon) and a three drops of grapefruit essential oil. All these ingredients should be mixed in a bottle and can be used every morning and before going to sleep. This astringent will not only remove excess oil from skin, it can also tighten open pores without leaving skin dry.

Removing Makeup
Mix a teaspoon of powdered skimmed milk with a teaspoon of warm water. Applied to your face and gently wipe it off.

A number of prescription cream are also available over-the-counter that can help in absorbing oil and further prevent production.

Facials and Masks
Take a teaspoon of salt and spray it in a bottle. Fill this bottle with lukewarm water. You can spray this solution on your face whenever you want to clean it and then use a towel to blot dry your face.

Baking Soda: Baking soda massage is known to rid skin of oily texture. Just mix a bit of baking soda with water and apply it on your face. Massage a few minutes and then wash off with cool water.

Eat Flaxseed Oil: Flaxseeds oil will help in better digestion. Flaxseed oil is quite rich in omega fatty acids which control skin's oil production.

Egg Whites: Those with extremely oily skin wound can apply an egg whites pack on skin. This pack will not only absorb the excess oil bottle also tighten the skin making it look healthy and fresh.
